FRANCE 24’s Sharon Gaffney discusses cooling solutions in urban environments with Ronita Bardhan, Professor of Sustainable Built Environment and Health at the University of Cambridge. She says that “ultimately architecture and city design is becoming more of a public health infrastructure frontline of defense in this warming world”. The record-breaking heatwave in Europe has caused more than 1,300 excess deaths, according to the WHO.
