Hezbollah buries dozens of fighters in south Lebanon

Hezbollah held a mass funeral for dozens of people, most of them fighters killed in the most recent fighting with Israel, in southern Lebanon’s Majdal Selm.

The Iran-backed Shia group, which drew Lebanon into the Middle East war by attacking Israel on March 2, does not reveal the number of fighters it has lost.

But it has organised several funerals during the current lull in fighting, which followed the June 17 signing of a US-Iran memorandum of understanding.

In the heavily-damaged village, Hezbollah buried 44 people, 39 of them fighters and four civilians said to have been killed in Israeli operations, and one man who died of natural causes.

Lebanese soldier killed in army vehicle explosion in southern Lebanon, cause unknown

⁠A ⁠Lebanese ​soldier was ​killed and an officer and another ​soldier ‌were ⁠wounded ‌when a suspicious object exploded ⁠in an army vehicle ​in the ‌southern Lebanese town of Mansouri, ‌the Lebanese ​army said on Saturday.

The army said ​it ​was continuing ​to investigate the ​incident and did not provide further details.

Kuwait has accused Iran of targeting civilian sites and vital infrastructure in the country, after reporting attacks on an oil facility and a power and water plant.

“The repeated targeting of these vital facilities reveals a systematic hostile approach targeting civilian sites and vital infrastructure that endangers the lives and safety of civilians,” the foreign ministry said.

Iran attack sparks two fires in Kuwait, firefighters injured, fire service says

Kuwait’s fire service said Iranian attacks have sparked fires at two locations in the country, with several firemen injured, after an attack was reported at a power and water plant.

The fire service said on X that it was dealing with “two fires that erupted in two different locations” following the latest Iranian attacks, adding that this “resulted in injuries among firemen and a worker”, who were taken to receive care.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has left Beirut for Washington, where he is expected to meet Donald Trump, the Lebanese presidency said, after talks between Lebanon and Israel wrapped up in Italy.

Aoun will hold discussions “with several American officials on the situation in Lebanon and ways to strengthen the ceasefire”, particularly in Lebanon’s south, as well as on “the withdrawal of Israel from the Lebanese regions it occupies”, the presidency said.

Kuwait says Iran hit second power and water plant

A ⁠fire ​has broken out ​at a second power generation and water ​desalination ‌plant ⁠in ‌Kuwait after an Iranian ⁠attack, the country’s Electricity, Water ​and Renewable ‌Energy Ministry said, ‌adding that ​several power generation units were shut down.

It ​said ​efforts were ​under way to ​contain the fire and carry out repairs.

Kuwait Airways reschedules most flights after airport suspension following Iranian attack

Kuwait ​Airways ​said it has ​rescheduled ‌most ⁠flights ‌after the country ⁠temporarily suspended operations at ​Kuwait International ‌Airport following Iranian missile ‌and drone ​attacks.

The airline had earlier said ​the ​rescheduling ​was due ​to the closure of Kuwaiti airspace.

US strikes kill 3, wound 8 in south, Iranian state media says

US attacks killed three people and wounded eight in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan, state news agency IRNA has reported.

“The deputy political, security and social affairs governor of Hormozgan announced the martyrdom of three people and the injury of eight people following enemy attacks on some parts of Hormozgan province this morning,” IRNA said on Telegram.

Iran targets Gulf neighbours: Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain

Iran’s army said it struck US military targets in Kuwait and Jordan in response to American attacks and targeted a base in Bahrain.

• The targets in Kuwait were tied to the Al-Adiri camp and Ali Al-Salem base. Kuwait’s army wrote on X on Saturday that explosions may be heard as a result of “air defense systems intercepting hostile targets”.

• Kuwait earlier reported an Iranian attack on a power and water plant and said seven of its military personnel had been wounded in a drone attack on army facilities.

• The targets in Jordan were fuel tanks at the Al-Azraq base. Jordan’s army said it had shot down 10 Iranian missiles with no casualties or damage.

• Air raid sirens were sounded in Bahrain, which hosts a major US naval base, according to the country’s interior ministry. Bahrain and Qatar earlier said they had intercepted missiles.

Blasts heard in central Iran

Five explosions were heard in the central Iranian city of Yazd shortly after US strikes were announced, according to the IRNA state news agency.

Mehr, another state-controlled agency, reported explosions “in several provinces in the south” of the country.

US launches seventh night of airstrikes on Iran targeting military sites

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on X that it “hit surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime capabilities,” as American forces concluded strikes on Iran for the seventh consecutive night.
