Half-time reading

An Azteca blockbuster coming up next.

Half-time!

A chance at either end in injury time but the match remains goalless at half-time.

Alisson saves!

Two Brazil defenders double up on Haaland to prevent him from shooting… only for the ball to be picked up by Odegaard, whose shot is brilliantly stopped by the Brazil keeper.

The Arsenal man was only a few yards out and should have done better.

Danilo blocks

Haaland, surrounded by three Brazil players, does well to feeds Odegaard in the box, but Danilo is there to block the shot.

Norway then make a mess of the subsequent corner.

Nyland to the rescue

Odegaard attempts a foolish dribble just outside the box and is promptly robbed of the ball.

It goes to Vini, whose vicious shot is blocked by Nyland.

Haaland’s first shot on target

Haaland, from an awkward angle, attempts a shot/lob that’s not quite high enough to beat Alisson.

Norway counter

Brazil give the ball away and a Norway counter ends with the captain smacking the ball into the side netting.

Danger in the Norway box

Nyland almost follows up his penalty heroics with a freak own-goal from a Martinelli cross.

History maker

Guimaraes is the first Brazilian to miss a World Cup penalty since… Zico in 1986.

Drinks break

We’re yet to see Haaland.

Cunha outmuscled

A Brazil counter-attack sees Cunha race into the box but he’s expertly shouldered away by Norway’s Moller Wolfe.

Better from Brazil

Vinicius, who really should’ve taken that penalty, is forced wide but still manages to whip a dangerous cross into the Norway box, but it’s headed clear.

Nyland saves!

A poor effort from Bruno Guimaraes, who paused before aiming for the right corner but finding the Norway keeper instead.

Penalty for Brazil!

Of course it is.

Gutting for Norway, who’ve had such a bright start.

Penalty appeal!

Cunha is brought down in the Norway area. The referee waves away Brazil’s appeal but VAR is taking a look.

This is surely a penalty.

Corner for Norway

It’s been all Norway to start with, and the men in red win a corner after more good work from Sorloth.

It’s headed away by Gabriel.

Norway score! But they’re offside!

Berg’s shot finds the top right corner… but Sorloth was offside in the buildup!

A blistering start from Norway.
