Her paintings are rich, layered works that feature distorted or warped figures – something that Georgia Semple says represents the “loss of perception” that one experiences throughout one’s life. Speaking to FRANCE 24, the London-based artist explains how themes of faith and addiction as well as her Guyanese heritage are expressed in her thought-provoking works. She says she hopes her paintings might prompt viewers to question “their own truths” or “how faith might show up in their lives”.
