The French team kick off their World Cup campaign against Senegal this Tuesday. Les Bleus are keen to avoid a repeat of their opening match at the 2002 World Cup, when they succombed to a 1-0 defeat.

Meanwhile, Cape Verde pulled off a massive upset by holding Spain to a draw. Iran drew with New Zealand, as did Egypt against Belgium. Tunisia sacked their manager Sabri Lamouchi after being thrashed 5-1 by Sweden in their first match.
