Norway beat Brazil 2–1 in the World Cup round of 16. Erling Haaland scored twice (79’, 90’) and is now level with Messi and Mbappé in the goalscoring charts (7).
England escaped the Mexican trap to join Norway. In the Tour de France, Tadej Pogacar let his team-mate Isaac del Toro take the victory. In Formula 1, Charles Leclerc won his first Grand Prix since 2024. At Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner both progressed, whilst Aryna Sabalenka was knocked out.
